Curiosity and the desire to learn new things are my motivating forces. Translating requires far more than a fluent command of a language. Since a major part of my work concerns specialist texts, there is always the need to expand into new technical or specialised fields. For instance, on one particular day I must have the relevant legal terminology at my fingertips for a court hearing, the next I’m acting as interpreter at an event organised by the textile and fashion industry for which I often need to have hundreds of technical terms at my command, terms that a layperson is not always familiar with, even in his or her native tongue.
I have an excellent eye for detail and can guarantee that – even when “time is of the essence” – you will receive an impeccable professional translation where the specialist terminology is correct and every comma is in the right place! My longstanding customers repay me with their loyalty.
I acquired the necessary tools of the trade during my four-year training at the renowned SDI München, one of the leading institutions of higher learning for translators and interpreters in Germany. I gathered greater practical experience during my commercial traineeship, working in various industries and several longer periods spent abroad.
I am active in the Erding Regional Group of the BDÜ (professional association of interpreters and translators in Germany) and in close contact with a network of qualified colleagues who, when the occasion requires, can cover other languages or specialist fields. By regularly attending training events and visiting the UK, I succeed in staying up to date both technically and linguistically.
